R&D/Innovation Capabilities

DuBois considers innovation/R&D as its growth engine, thus a top priority. This commitment is evidenced by its massive investment in scientific and technological facilities to ensure its customers can enjoy the latest innovation in new products, increased environmental safety, and enhanced customer benefits. DuBois supports this commitment by continuously innovating products in all of our key product line areas. DuBois currently carries over 15 active patents in areas of industrial cleaning and all have the product associated with them.

Our mission is to create new technologies that will provide a platform for future growth. To ensure that R&D is "doing the right things," DuBois utilizes a process termed Innovation Process Management. This well-established, disciplined process is used in conjunction with the Advanced Product Quality Planning to manage the full portfolio of new products as well as to enable us to develop products which meet our customer needs and satisfy the design requirements of our quality registration, ISO-9001/2000. In addition, all new products are reviewed thoroughly by our regulatory group to assure their compliance with safety, health, and environmental regulations.

The R&D center is located in Cincinnati, Ohio, and occupies 105,000 square feet of laboratory and office space. It houses over 50 highly technically competent employees, with degrees ranging from B.S. to Ph.D.'s, of which over half are dedicated to industrial R&D. The laboratory is equipped with state-of-the-art analytical and microbiological equipment which provide tools for our scientists and engineers to support new product development and help our customers solve their problems. The technical center is also equipped with pilot plant facilities to conduct product/process optimization and to test the performance of new products throughout the development stage before they are introduced to the market.
