DuBois specializes in deposit control. Our technologies include products to eliminate problems from “stickies” deposits resulting from recycled fiber contaminants, tissue mill concerting broke, and mill coated broke. Our product line also includes technology solutions to eliminate issues related to scale formation and microbiological growth.
Key Technologies:
Stickies and Wood Pitch Control
Scale Control
Microbiological Growth Control
DuBois has a complete line of products for controlling contaminants from recycled fiber “stickies” and resinous pitch deposits to hardwood and softwood pulps. The DuBois line includes products which use dispersion, detackification, and fixation as mechanisms to control these types of contaminants as well as products based on highly efficient nanoparticle technology. DuBois conducts a comprehensive mill survey and laboratory evaluation to recommend the best products and application strategies for each mill’s unique needs.
Inorganic scale can pose significant problems in every area of a pulp and paper mill. DuBois products help prevent the accumulation of scale on all process surfaces. We offer an extensive line of scale cleaning solutions to remove existing deposits. Our X-Cell line offers both paper machine and pulp mill applications, addressing a wide range of needs across the mill. For paper machines, our solutions improve stock flows, sheet uniformity, and downtime minimization. In the pulp mill, our products enhance efficiency in liquor evaporators, heat exchangers, and green liquor clarification, while improving throughput and extending time between cleaning intervals. Additionally, we help optimize pulp digesters, bleach plants, and kiln scrubbers, reducing maintenance costs and increasing productivity.
The papermaking environment can be an ideal place for biological growth. The paper machine system is well suited to microbiological growth due to the warm, wet environment that is a rich source of nutrients. Microbiological control is a critical aspect of paper mill deposit control, as papermaking equipment can be prone to colonization by slime producing organisms, leading to breaks, defects, and other issues. Stock chests provide an ideal low-oxygen environment for anaerobic organisms that can produce odorous, unhealthy, or even explosive gases. Coatings, pigments, fillers, and other process additives can be spoiled by biological growth, reducing their effectiveness. DuBois offers microbiological growth control solutions designed to address these challenges. Our products include organic biocides as well as stabilizers that, when blended with an active halogen source, control the release of halogen in papermaking systems, providing treatment for paper machine whitewater systems, machine make-up water sources, and shower water.
