DuBois manufactures specialty chemicals to support manufactures of virgin and recycled fiber pulps.
Key Technologies:
Digester Aids and Dissolving Pulp
Fireside Additives
Hydrogen Sulfite and Odor Control
Freeze Control
Maximizing pulp yield and meeting quality standards are keys to efficient pulp mill operation. Digester aids can improve liquor penetration and enhance the efficiency and consistency of the cooking process. For manufacturers of dissolving pulp grades, it is essential to preserve the cellulose in the fibers while achieving strict standards for final extractives content.
DuBois collaborates closely with pulp mills to understand the processes first before tailoring solutions to meet specific needs. Our offerings include products designed to increase liquor penetration, enhance resin removal in dissolving pulps, and specialized xanthation aids for dissolving pulp manufacturers.
DuBois Chemicals offers proprietary liquid and powder products that provide both deposit reduction and/or combustion catalysis to improve the combustion characteristics of various materials. Our solutions are effective in biomass, waste combustion, and both draft and sulfite recovery boilers. The benefits of using these products include improved run length, reduced shutdown times, softer grates leading to less cleaning, improved combustion and energy removal efficiency, and improved operational reliability.
DuBois offers custom-formulated powder products designed for cost-effective fireside deposit control and combustion catalysis in recovery boilers as well as water-based solutions for controlling fireside deposits and combustion in waste and biomass applications.
DuBois offers a line of proprietary scrubbing reagents designed to effectively control odors and dangerous materials such as hydrogen sulfite, mercaptans, and other sulfur-based odor chemistries as well as sterilizing agents for microbiocidal control of odor-causing materials.
These water-based, safe, and easy-to-apply scrubbing agents provide fast, effective cleansing of process equipment including tanks and vessels, stripper columns, and more. They react quickly and irreversibly with hydrogen sulfite and mercaptans, offering selective action compared to common oxidizers. Formulated for both outdoor and indoor applications, they can be used to scrub non-condensable gases, reducing H2S and mercaptans in foul condensate systems to a safe level before entry.
DuBois freeze control products provide unique anti-freeze capabilities for conveyors, chutes, rail cards, truck beds, and other surfaces prone to ice buildup as well as full-scale bulk materials. During harsh winter conditions, these products can provide improved reliability of handling systems, improved handling of materials, lower maintenance costs, reduced backhaul costs, and improved worker-friendliness. Our Enviromelt line products are even non-corrosive, non-toxic, and not subject to TDG regulations in Canada.
